Choose the Baselayer from either a Bing Satellite or an Open Street Map background.
There are usually four main layers to choose from:
Orthophoto displays a high resolution photo-like map
Tree Height Model shows you the height distribution in the forest or plantation where the blue represents the lowest points on the ground and red are the highest areas.
Stands shows the boundaries of the stands or management areas. By clicking anywhere in the stands you will get the summary stand information such as tree density or mean height.
Trees … will give you the results of the tree detection, it will automatically switch off if you zoom out as this function is only useful when taking a close look.
This section allows you to add new stands.
First use the "Draw Polygon" button to mark the area on the map. To stop the drawing process, hit the same button again that now is labeled "Stop Drawing".
In case you want to discard the area that you outlined, you can use the button "Delete Polygon".
After you are finished, you will see that some of the stand attributes were already added automatically in the side menu. Now hit "Add" and the new stand will be added to your data, including the attributes you entered.
This tab allows you to delete stands. The stand that you want to delete has to be selected in the map first.
The attributes of the selected stand will appear in the side menu to show you information about that stand that you are going to delete. Clicking "Delete" finalises the operation.
In the Filter and Search menu, there are two functions that help you to quickly find the information you need: The Tree Filter option allows you to only show trees on the map that have certain attributes specified by you.
The Location Search on the other hand helps you to find any place in the world by providing GPS coordinates or the name of a street, city or other place. By clicking on one of the search results, you can jump to the desired spot.
